Dr. Seuss- creatures

After Ms. Nicoll's explanation and looking at the pictures on the smart board we started to sketch our creatures. We were to remember that our creatures needed to have faces, heads, feet and bodies. We were to use many colors and then we shade in the background. How can you not have fun drawing Dr. Seuss creatures? Thanks Cody

What is a circut?

What is a circut? Grade 4/5 are experimenting with what is needed to make a circut.

Leadership and Community

Riverside School beleives that leadership and community are very important. The grade 6 class is working with the grade ones on both. The reading buddies program that we have enables every students the opportunity to lead and model the qualities that we all want to see in our students. The grade ones get to know the grade six students better and therefore develop  friendships.

Curling = math + science

Grade 5 started their angles unit today in math. Curling is a great way to introduce angles and then throw in a little science about weight and friction. Students caught on very quickly. Next lesson we will see if they can make the rocks in the house have certain angles to each other and the outside of the house.
